My cutting boards are handmade from the most durable American and Exotic hardwoods. 
I sand the surface until it is smooth as glass. I then hand rub the board with mineral oil and beeswax until it has a lustrous sheen. 
 
With a little maintenance this handmade wood cutting board will last for years.
